The business was originally started as PBSW in 1944. John Hoppstetter took over the business in 1978, and was joined by son Chris in 1985, at which time the name was changed to the present name. Chris and his wife Colette became the sole owners in 1992. Located in downtown Yuma since the beginning, Hoppstetter's has made its home at 102 S. Main Street since August of 1990.
